How Does An Australian Citizen Who Has Returned Home After A Working Holiday In The UK Claim Tax Back?

I was on a working feast maker visa in the UK during the tax year April 08/April 09 and port side the UK to return home on February 19th 2009 (I am an Australian citizen). I am trying to travail out how I can claim back the tax I paid whilst working in the UK during this time.

Is it at all possible to claim back Tax although I have already left the UK?

If so, how would I do this as an individual without having to go through a tax claiming armed forces?

Thank

Answer: Steve is almost convenient. You can download the form P85 frm www.hmrc.gov.uk - no need to ring anywhere. You send it with your P45 which you should have received when you left-wing your job to your tax office in the UK. You wont get a P60 if you wern't employed at 5/4/09.
Please dnt use a tax reclaim servie, they are a rip-off and you can do it easily yourslef.

I Am An Australian Citizen & Need To Claim My 2005-2006 UK Tax Return. Can Anyone Recommend A Company?

I have returned on to Australia and have all my P45's, final payslips etc. I was with a limited company for a short time also and did not vocation for the entire tax year. I have previously claimed my tax on my own but would like to engage the services of a recommended and reasonable company this time to save the time and stress! Not sure if there is a problem with it being a few years old either. Thanks!

Answer: On no account pay someone to do this for you. They will take a beamy chunk of what is rightfully yours.
You simply need to go to www.hmrc.gov.uk and download form P85. Fill this in and send it with your P45 to your tax support, if necessary with a covering letter explaining what you were doing throughout the whole tax year. E mail me if you thirst for support.
