I Get Out Of The Military In Feb. If My Tax Info Is From TN But I Live In NC Who Do I Claim Unemployment With?
Question by stuart | Posted in United States
I am in the handle of selling my house and I would hate to get a job here in NC and then sell the house and end of quitting the job after only a few weeks or months. All my tax records are claimed through TN. I loaded in NC. I just need to find out who I would actually claim unemployment with, TN or NC.
Answer: the 1099 from the unemployment part should have a state on it. usually when you live in one state and work in another you file taxes for both states. all states deviate in the way they treat these situations and some states don't have state taxes. all you need to do is your state taxes and response the questions or take your taxes to someone else and it should all work out fine. since i don't have a tn or a nc tax form in my hand you will have to read them for yourself.

he Department has received your wage (W2) report and has no record of your NC individual income tax return for the tax year above.
If you have filed, please provide a parrot of the return filed along with a copy of your federal individual income tax return.
If you have not filed, you must do so right away and follow these steps:
Complete a NC Tax Return.

Answer: That literally is not from the IRS. It's from the NC DoR. IRS is Federal, NC DoR is State.
The best way to get copies of your W-2s is directly from the employers themselves. Those copies are the only ones that will have both Federal and Circumstances earnings information.
You can get an earnings transcript from the IRS by sending them a Form 4506-T or trade 1-800-TAX-1040. That won't have the state information on it but you'll need to prepare your Federal offer first

Question by zonryzita | Posted in United States
So, we don't own a available. We rent. And, we do Schedule C when we do taxes because my husband and i both are privately contracted. So, I heard that if you own a old folks', you can itemize mileage when it comes to charitable work that you've done throughout the year, as long as you keep flattering records.
But since we don't own a home, we cannot do this. HOWEVER, can we do it for State income tax? We live in NC.
Thanks!
Answer: Yes, but it has to be accessory mileage. For example if you travel 5 miles to work and another 2 miles for charitable line, you can deduct 4 miles round trip.
