Bank A (a non-native bank located in a country without tax treaty with the US government) loaned money to Presence B (a US company located in the US). Could someone please disclose to me when a taxpayer would use a tax table to determine their taxable income, and when they would need to use a tax rate?
Answer: You decide your taxable income before you refer to either, then get your TAX from the table or tax rate schedule. The tables only go up to $100K taxable return - over that you have to use the schedules. It comes out basically the same, give or take a few dollars - the tables are just there for convenience, with the calculations already done for you.
