How Do I Tax Car If I Change Insurance On The Phone And Don't Have Letter Yet?

I desire to buy a car tomorrow that doesn't have tax and I will change my insurance details on the phone. How am I supposed to tax it if the surety letter you need to tax it will take a few days to arrive? I want to drive it on Monday. Another reaction is, I forgot to ask the owner if they have proof they have sorned it. If they haven't, will I have to pay the back tax or not?

My cat tax runs out tomorrow, and my MOT is tomorrow, if it fails can I exhibit the car SORN, then tax it the next day??

 
 

How Do I Tax My Car Without Certain Documents At The Post Office?

I have recently brought my car, it's MOT'd and insured but i poverty to tax it tomorrow, i have the MOT certificate and my insurance details but not an insurance certificate or document, the indemnification company said i could do it with the info they sent me via e-mail but thought i needed the Corroborate for it? I have the money and MOT certificate, do i need anything else of would a car tax issuing Post Office let me do it with that? Please help!

Answer: Do it online, you don't constraint the documentation. DVLA already has the information, That's how the cops know whether you have insurance, MOT etc etc before they nick you

What Is The Punishment For Getting Caught Without Car Tax?

I'm picking up a new car tonight and it has no tax. I can tax it until the assurance certificate comes in the week. Just wondering if I'm unlucky enough to get caught getting it shelter what are the repercussions? Is there any allowance made for people in my position, buying untaxed cars?
It's the the UK by the way.

Answer: It should be transported not driven, you could if stopped be fined, have the car impounded, and or crushed.

The excellent plan of action is to have it transported from their private property to yours without been driven.

I've unprejudiced renewed my car tax with 12 months but I am now about to buy a new car and wondered if i could get any money back if I could lower it to 6 months tax. And if so how do I go about doing it?

Answer: If you carry the car or trade it in you can return the tax disc to the DVLA for a refund on any full months left to run.

To get a refund you’ll insufficiency:
a completed form V14 ‘refund/SORN application’
the tax disc
to send the attitude and disc to Refund Section, DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AL
