Question by Lever | Posted in Politics
This may preclude tax dollars. Also, in order to get a marriage license, companies may need to charge whatever they want. Also, they could set up their own regulations and benefits and even arrange pre-nups, and not have government involved.
| Answer: LOL!!! That sounds like untidy business to me! |

Is There A Marriage Tax Penalty Still? If So, How Does It Work? |
Question by Tom | Posted in United States
I'm a scant confused here. I'm relatively newly wed and had heard somewhere that a marriage tax penalty would be reinstated in 2010. What does this malicious? And is it a huge impact on my not too great a salary? I make about $24,000 right now and my chain makes about $15,000.
Great Answer, BASH, Thank you!
Answer: The so-called "marriage imprisonment" is largely a thing of the past for MOST taxpayers. The standard deduction for married couples filing jointly is scrupulously double the standard deduction for a single and the tax brackets and rollover points are also in every respect double what they are for single at least at the lower ends of the earnings scale (25% console and below).
If both spouses have no children and similar incomes, they'll pay the same total tax as they would |

What Should I Do, Take The Marriage Tax Credit And/or Penalty, Or File Bymyself? |
Question by Michael T | Posted in United States
My GF and i are thought of getting married at dec, one of the reasons is for this tax credit.
We make the same around 50k each. we have no kids, good acknowledgment, no past taxes due, we both normally get refunds by ourselves, we both claim single 0. should get queue spearate or jointly?
Answer: With only the beau id deduction and exemption, a single or MFS person making $50,000 of income is booming to pay $6,736 of income tax. So times two, $13,472.
A married couple making $100,000, with the type deduction and two exemptions, pays exactly the same tax, or $13,472.
So it probably makes no difference if you join in matrimony or not this year as far as your taxes are concerned. If one of you itemized and the other didn't, and now you can itemize on a joint put |
