Does Anyone Know When The IRS Will Start Excepting Income Tax Filings?

Does anyone remember when the IRS will start excepting income tax filings?
2008, my employer is very prompt about giving us our w-2's, but I know the IRS has a steady old-fashioned that they will actually except and start proccessing them.
We usually get them by the 2nd week of Jan.

Answer: In your occasion, you may file when receive your W-2. The IRS will be accepting returns during the week you specified.

However, you should gap until February. Sometimes, a 1099 for an money that you have forgotten to include (usually the interest from a bank account with a mignonne balance) arrives then, and it is a pain to fix the filing after the IRS accepts it.

Applying For US Passport When Tax Filings Not Up To Date?

I am applying for a US passport and I am not up to ancient on my income tax filings. I have NOT applied for an extension. Will I have a problem?

Answer: There is nothing on the US Passport commitment asking about taxes. In fact, the department that does Passports (State Dept) doesn't chiefly communicate with the Treasury Dept (IRS) about the status of accounts. They generally only communicate about individuals that have "doubtful" situations with foreign implications.

Quartely Tax Filings For Corp That Doesn't Make Money?

I have an accountant who i pay to arrange my quarterly taxes. My business hasn't been making any income for the past year. I asked my accountant if I can obstruct my quarterly tax filings since I don't make any money off the business, he said i couldn't because i have to wait 2 years for the IRS to send out a spell out before I can stop filing quarterly, Is this true? I have a feeling he is lying just wants my fee. If he is untruthful I will fill my EOY taxes with another accountant. Thank you!

Answer: Either your accountant is misinformed or you misunderstood him. The IRS doesn't ever send a verbatim saying you don't need to file quarterly income tax estimates. Quarterly takings tax estimates are required to pay the tax you will owe during the year in installments. If you don't owe any taxes, you don't need to make estimates. However, you may manipulate like you aren't making money, but actually will owe some taxes. I would find another accountant, a CPA would be preferred, and have him commentary
