Need Tax Expert! How Much Tax On Freelance Work?

I always heard that when you scram money as a freelancer that you dont get as much taxes deducted, and that it's usually a sweet have to do with. But recently, when I showed my W1090 to my accountant, he told me that I will have to pay $650 in taxes? How in God's name is a freelance check a depart worth only $1200- end up in ME paying back the IRS $650 dollars? Has my accountant gone mad? Arent the tax rules hellishly flex for freelance work?

HELP! Need expert tax advice please.

Answer: In truth, that sounds about right. I don't know what tax bracket you're in, but assuming you're in the 28% tax bracket your federal tax would be around $336. Then you ALSO have self occupation tax, which would be around $170, for a total hypothetical tax of around $506 on that $1200 check.

Not getting taxes deducted is never a chaste idea.

Do I Need To Worry About A Tax Expert Like H&R Block If I Only Make 15k Net Annually And I Rent An Apartment?

I only figure there is not point in having a tax professional do my taxes unless like Im remodeling a proficient in, Or own property, Or something along those lines. I am 24 and I rent an apartment, I own one car and I work 4 days a week as a controller at a convenience store. So do I need a professional to do my taxes, Will it make a difference?

Answer: On the whole if you have no deductions and want to file a straight/easy form you can do it yourself. Just get the forms and trail the directions. (Is it called a ES1040?)

If you have deductions then I would use a professional..
