What Is A Point Of Use Tankless Water Heater? |
I necessity to take advantage of the tax credit for changing my water heater but am interested in knowing about the point of use tankless water heater.
| Answer: Model water heaters have a storage tank which the heater needs to keep hot, so it runs more. Then, at times of high hot water treatment, the tank runs out, and needs to be refilled with more hot water. They use a huge amount of energy. The point of use heaters only animate the water as it goes to the "point of use," say a shower or sink. Since it only heats the water as its being old, it uses less energy. The one down side is that it takes a minute or two for the water to start |
