What Are Two Strong Arguments For Regressive Tax? |
I'm having a ruminate over in class for regressive tax, while the other team is debating for progressive tax and i'm trying to persuade the teacher to prefer regressive over progressive. What are two strong arguments for regressive tax?
| Answer: 1. Stimulation of the saving. When large amounts of cash in the form of taxes take away approximately 30% of our buying power it has a crippling impact on the economy. This clamp on the free excersize of wealth prohibits growth and therefore leads to less productivity and less and less tax yield. 2. A regressive tax would put enough money back into the economy to stimulate business, the stock market, investment opportunities, and refill the coffers of regime by making workers and taxpayers |
They talk about productive hard work, yet why should a janitor pay more in regressive taxes than those who do simple (capital gains) transactions? We had balanced federal budgets in the example 1990s; we had full employment then as well.
