Tax Software: Housing Costs. Property Tax-what Form? |
Hello, I'm currently using the Use tax software.
Just wondering what form I'd put housing costs, such as: property taxes, hydro, indemnity, area of home used for home office, etc
| Answer: Property taxes are special itemized deductions, and will go on schedule A if you itemize. Home office if you are self employed goes on assign C with your se income. If you are an employee, it's schedule A but the rules for taking a deduction are much tighter. Protection if it's for your business goes on schedule C. Medical insurance premiums might go on schedule A, but most favourite aren't deductible. If you are self employed, you might get a deduction |
