What Is The PA "Other Withholding A" Tax?

I ethical got my first paycheck today, its on a W-4 paycheck, and at the bottom of the tax list, their is one for "Other Withholding A." I have tried to find what this tax goes to, and i cant find anything, any relieve would be great!


Answer: It could be one of three. First is EMS or Occupational Priv Tax, Two shakes of a lamb's tail is PA UC or PA unemployment (about .008 of your wages) or it could be your local tax. I would almost guarantee it is your local tax (most places it is 1%, but can go as elated as 4.25% in Philly).

Work In NJ And Living In PA, Should I Pay NJ SUI SDI Tax?

I worked in NJ but I'm a PA dwelling. My company withhold NJ SDI/SUI tax. Is it right? Should my company withhold PA's SDI/SUI only?
If not, how can I claim them back?


Answer: You would only pay PA taxes. Necessity to file in PA for a refund.

State Tax Return; Live In NJ But Work In PA?

I live in NJ but I effort in PA and I would like to know how I go about filing my state tax return. My employer withholds PA local taxes but not NJ. I did try to look this up on irs.gov and NJ's website but it was all a bit confusing. Any advise would be appreciated.

I bought a accommodate in PA in July 2009. I work in NJ. My employer said he was going to keep withholding NJ taxes as they have a reciprocating concurrence. But do I file taxes in PA, or NJ, or both?
