If my mother in law is a non-occupying co-borrower on my credit, can I still get the tax credit if she owns a home?
Answer: If you're talking about the $8,000 refundable tax credit for first values bright and early buyers, then yes, you can still get the credit if your co-signer already owns a home. The credit has nothing to do with your mortgage, it has to do with ownership.

With the lenders turning down loans correctly and left, and the tax credit ending, what do you think the future holds for the mortgage industry?
| Answer: The mortgage trade will be just fine. Turning down poor credit risk will actually improve profits. It isn't the loudness of money your run thru your business, it's what left in the cigar box when you subtract all the costs from the income -- profit. |

Would A Tax Credit For Mortgage Payments Be More Effective Than Subsidizing The Lenders? |

I was wondering if giving a credit for mortgage payments be more functional in rescuing the economy than subsidizing the financial institutions. This would possibly prevent foreclosures for people at jeopardize, and also put more income into the pockets of people who did not take-on the high risk mortgage, thus adding to the economic stimulation.
Answer: The amounts of cabbage (700 billion) are so large, it is hard to believe this is only about mortgages. I think the banks are responsible of making lots of bad investments way beyond the bad mortgages they made in this country. Corporate greed led them to this circumstances, and it seems rather crazy to bail them out so they can do it again. Some, if not many, of these businesses should go out of business.
Giving these dollars back to each taxpaying full-grown in this country would |

Hi, I heard, the mortgage interest for your right hand property doen't get any tax credit at all?

Answer: In extended mortgage interest for 1st and 2nd homes are deductable. However, may subject to limitation if you have equity line(s). See IRS Biweekly 17:
Fully deductible interest. If all of your mortgages fit into one or more of the following three categories at all times during the year, you can subtract all of the interest on those mortgages.
