Letter From The IRS? Additional Child Tax Credit? |
I recieved a correspondence literature from the IRS today, it included a form 8812 "Additional Child Tax Credit"...
First off they sent me a form from 2006, as an alternative of 2007, which made the form make no sense at all, but once I printed out the 2007 form it started to vocation with my current 1040a form.
The letter basically says fill out this form and mail it to us... "You may make the grade for a Refund from the Additional Child Tax Credit."
| Answer: It's not odd at all. Sometimes people pass up credits that they could've received. And the IRS can catch the "oops" and send you a letter for letter letting you know. Just fill out the ACTC form and mail it back. A rep will look over the ACTC aspect along with the 1040 you already filed. If you qualify to receive the ACTC, the IRS will send you a check.
