Letter From The IRS? Additional Child Tax Credit?

I recieved a correspondence literature from the IRS today, it included a form 8812 "Additional Child Tax Credit"...

First off they sent me a form from 2006, as an alternative of 2007, which made the form make no sense at all, but once I printed out the 2007 form it started to vocation with my current 1040a form.

Just fill out the ACTC form and mail it back. A rep will look over the ACTC aspect along with the 1040 you already filed. If you qualify to receive the ACTC, the IRS will send you a check.

Answer: Because the law that gives child tax credit says it's only eulogistic as long as the child is under 17. And geez, what an amazing bunch of wrong answers to a very key question! Some of the responders were talking about being able to claim him as a dependent - and you can, you just don't get the child tax credit for him.

I skilled in Earned income credit allows you to claim him if he was born anytime before Dec 31st, does the same try out for filing head of household and child tax credit. I cant find this info on their website. thanks

Answer: If your child is born in the tax year, it counts for the whole year. Do not put 5 months, put 12 months (this is in the instructions).

You are provisional for EIC, HoH, child tax credit, Additional child tax credit, etc., as long as you meet the other qualifications.
