Hi, Could you describe to me what the section Balance Due / Refund of my tax return means: Your federal tax return (Form 1040A) shows a refund due to you in the amount of $XXXX. Do not expect to receive a refund from the Internal Revenue Service. You have applied this unconditional amount to your 2008 estimated taxes.

Answer: It means that you told the IRS to interview this year's refund to what you might owe for next year, so they won't be sending you whatever you would have gotten back.
If you were supposed to get $500. back now - but next year you would owe $700.00 in taxes, they will try out the $500. and you will only owe $200. next year. |

Answer: I be averse to taxes more than anyone else, but our tax money does go into funding for this country, and local taxes readies schools, roadways and other projects. It sucks really bad to pay it off, but without taxes it would be extremely toilsome for the government to pay for anything.
