Trade Stimulus package-I did not file tax for 2006 due to personal problem. Can I now file 2006 and 2007 together and still be qualified for Economic Stimulus package. Please advice.

Answer: The tax discount is based on your 2007 earnings and Federal Income Tax liability. You need to file a 2007 Federal Revenues Tax return (and have sufficient "qualifying income") to receive the repay.

However, you do need to file your 2006 return, either to receive a refund for your overpayment or to minimize the interest and penalties for not filing on once in a while.

I haven't filed my 2006 tax repayment. I'm getting ready to file my 2007 return and I want to file my 2006 return as well. Also, if I was due a refund on my 2006 put back, should I still expect to get it, even though I'm filing a year later? Any input would be appreciated.

Answer: File both returns, if 2007 gets processed first IRS will speechify on the refund until the 2006 is fully processed

so the last two digets of my societal security number is 40. i filed a 2007 tax return with direct dregs. but i didnt file a 2006 tax return and i may have owed money. dose that mean i wont get it?

Answer: The Money-making Stimulus check is based upon your 2007 filing. Everything before that is moot.

I Want To File 2006 Tax Return In 2007, Can I?

My owner gave me 2006 W-2 form only till Oct. last year. This year they sent me another 2006 W-2 description for Nov. and Dec. So, can I file 2006 return seperately or do I need to add it with 2007? Please help me.

Answer: You will have to file 2006 one at a time on a 2006 1040. If you actually filed taxes for the 2006 tax year, you will need to file a 1040X which is an amended revenue. In other words, its basically like doing the whole year's taxes over again.
Your employer by law has to get your tax info to you on a opportune basis (mailed by 1/31 I think). Make sure you get it on perpetually this year. You can be held responsible for not reporting the income. Good serendipity.

eFile prior year taxes: http://www.qcktax.com/file_earlier_year_ta xes.php

Just do FreetaxUSA, Taxbrain or Taxact on line. eFile on the Federal only and the direct Federal eFile. Then go to your State website. You can find it in any search engine. You type in your Submit along with "department of taxation". E.g, I typed in Iowa Bailiwick of Taxation
