I all things considered do not get a tax refund. Because I owe back student loans, the government takes my refund. Will this be the case in the $140 million tax allowance announced in the economic stimulis plan as well?

I have finished my taxes on Turbo tax but do not rcall it mentioning this tax easement by Pres. Bush. Will the Fed Gov. just add it to my refund for me or am i missing something? Also will this extra 1500$(for me, married with one offspring) be on a separate check? Just curious.
Answer: The commission is completely independent of any refund you may receive on your 2007 Federal Income tax renewal. That's why it doesn't show up in Turbo Tax.
If you file your 2007 return, you need do nothing else if you qualify for a deduction. The IRS will send it to you automatically. If you chose direct deposit for your refund, your rebate will be straightforward deposited. If you had a refund check mailed, then your rebate check will be mailed.

If you own haecceity taxes will that prevent someone from qualifing to get the refund tax check this summer? I met the income standards but I was very recently wondering what kind of things can make me not qualify to recieve one.
Answer: It is implausible that our Stimulus check will be withheld for property taxes. You would have to owe a LOT, have been taken to court, and have had the court point a lein on your tax refund. That takes some doing. And if you're that far behind, maybe it's a good thing that you'll get some of it paid off :)
I'm assuming you're not at the end of the day that far behind - so a good plan might be to use your Stimulus check to pay off some of that debt. But then, I'll probably spend mine on architect

The author of this article implies a connection between gas prices and tax breaks given to oil companies. Or are they solely saying that the oil companies don't deserve tax breaks because they made an $11 million profit last year? Because I don't see oil companies lowering the honorarium of gas over this. If anything I could see the price at the pumps rising even higher.
