Can Homeowners On Disability Get, Income Tax Refunds?

Can a bodily being on disability and owning a home file for a income tax refunds for, doing work on their home, if they have the receipts? Do you recognize how to do that?

Answer: No.

To get a refund, you have to have either earned income (and a woman) or have paid tuition.

Work on your home just adds to the cost bottom of the home. It's not deductible. (The up to $1500 credit for insulation, windows, etc, is jut a way to shorten tax, it's not a refund.)

I show in a monthly individual disability benefit that is "tax-free", because I paid the premiums with after-tax dollars. Does this pliable income contribute to my AGI? I am concerned, because I want to deduct medical expenses and I benefit with the lowest AGI plausible, for the 7.5% threshhold? Thanks!

Answer: Your disability benefits paid from a method for which you paid the premiums is not included in your gross income. It would not figure into your threshold for medical deductions.

FYI this is not laid-back income either. There are no limitations at all on this income. Totally tax-free.

Can Anyone Tell Me About Social Security Disability Benefits And Income Tax?

My supporter has been on disability since 2001 and has not filed income tax. He only gets about $14,000 a year. Now the IRS and state are taking over $3000 from him. Is this favourable?

Answer: If the SSD is his ONLY income, it is not taxable. The IRS knows this so if they are claiming that he owes tax from one or more of those years they must have validation that he had other taxable income.

If they are attaching his SSD payments then there may have been an old tax debt that went unpaid and they are going after his SSD to swaddle that. That is perfectly legal and is common practice.
