Moving Into Flat In Brighton With Two Students. What's The Reduction In Council Tax That I'd Get?

As students, they're simply exempt from paying and as a non-student I'd be the only one paying. I've heard I'd get a 25% discount in council tax (paying for whole chattels). Is this correct?

Thank you kindly

Answer: 25% per actually for students only

as a non-student, full price

How Do They Work Out How Much Council Tax You Pay? If I Am In Band D Do I Simply Divide This Amount?

by 10 months to get the amount i needfulness to pay per month?? my council tax bill per month is crazy and i am confused to how they get this figure

Answer: firstly the attain up of the council tax you pay will vary depending on whether you are in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK.
if you are in Scotland your bill will in fact have an element for council tax PLUS an principles of paying for your water ( provision and sewerage) to Scottish water which is then combined to give a leading total. though they are both on the same bill councils have no control over setting the water rates and are merely required to bill and compile.

Is There Somewhere I Can Consult To See If I'd Be Better Of Paying Current Council Tax Or The SNP's Proposed

Townswoman income tax thing.

I'm looking at voting SNP but want to find out more about their proposed replacemnt for Council Tax.

I don't very see the problem with Council tax - if you need paying it you get it.

Answer: I've precisely been doing a google search on this to try and find whether I would pay more or less myself.

I couldn't find any tables or calculators with which to make a weighing, but I did find that the SNP propose a local income tax rate of 3p in the pound. So they would charge 3% of your proceeds in tax, rather than the fixed rate council tax.

So lets say you earn £18,000 per year. 3% of that is £540. Segregate that by 12 and it works out at £45 per month.

Council Tax?

How do councils conclude which band you are in.
We moved 4 years ago to a 2 bedroom detached bungalow, thought it was a manifest move. Now we are both retired & receiving state pension & they have decided we are band " D " & have to pay closely £1500 a year in taxes. How do we appeal?

Answer: it goes on how much your bagnio/bungalow is worth, each band has a price range so if you do appeal and your bungalow is quality more than a band D building then you may have to pay more but obviously if it is worth less then you pay less
If you go to the site below it tells you about the pricing bands, in all creditably i wouldnt appeal because if your bungalow is worth more, which it probably is, you may well end up paying more

The Washington Piling had an article Monday about Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which is fa bankruptcy, This is a set-back to me, since Harrisburg, while not practicing 200 impenetrable Georgism, has been an admonition of the celebrity of applying... then it switched to a two-classification worth tax, several times as high-pitched on debark as on buildings, and knowing revitalization, with most of its unoccupied lots and boarded-up buildings being put to effects use. (The museum never opened, after several million dollars were all in on it. the incinerator didn't mould the interest they were hoping for from other communities paying to have their brummagem apt of there. Now, alas, the diocese has run into skirmish, owing to overspending on such projects as a new incinerator and a Dodge West museum.
