Is This Correct Way Of Calculating Sales Tax?

Sales for Walk is $1000.00 including tax ----state PA 6% & county tax Lancaster 5%.
Unseemly receipt is $900.90 ($1000.00/1.110)
PA tax is $54.05 (900.90*6%)
Lanc tax is $45.05 (900.90*5%)

Please tell me if this is correct way to calculate?

Answer: Okay this will be short and easy. First take $14.50 and add it to $23.95. That should give you a total of $38.45. Now take the sum of the two numbers (in this case it would be $38.45) and multiply it by 5% (0.05) You get 1.9225 so hoop-shaped that up to $2.00 and you add that to the first sum ($38.45+$2.00). The answer you should get is $40.45. As you can see that is a little over $40.00 so if you can come up with some transform you should be able to buy both the shirt and the jeans. However, if

I be familiar with the sales tax in New York City is 8.625% but I don't know how to calculate it. Please help!

Answer: You take what is being bought, and, as sustained as it's a taxable sales tax item, multiply it by .08625. By the way, I have attached a link to NYC sales tax, and the rate is 8.375% according to the website.

I'm planning on current Christmas shopping and there's a certain item that I need to know the sales tax on, It's $199.95 from the Apple supply over here, I live in Columbus Ohio and I want to know how you would calculate sales tax or if u can figure it out and forecast me the net amount that would be great, thanks!

Answer: Quite about 8% but just calculated 10% to be safe
199.95 X 10% = 19.995 + 199.95 = 219.985 round up to 219.99
So 220.00 might be a positive number but it would not hurt to have a few dollars more just in case.
