Im doing my 2008 taxes on turbo tax, yes i did inherit one of those stimulus checks, but why are they saying its free money. im just kinda ticked that they deducted this from my repayment. They should ask you if you want one or not so it doesnt take away from my tax return.

Ok so I'm hearing that turbo tax is deducting stimulus payments from 2008 returns and its decreasing of the bring back there is a place where it asks you how much your stimulus payment was and however much that is it deducts from your return how are they able to do that when the irs said that it wouldn't rise or decrease your tax return?

Answer: The stimulus meet approval you got in may or june or whenever was an advance on the return your filing now. It was calculated based on what you would have been eligable for last year. Now that it is span to do the 2008 returns they're calculating how much you're actually eligable for and deducting what you've already gotten. If you're eligable for more you'll get it. If you're eligable for less, you wont have to pay anything back. If you're eligable for the same amount...you already got it.

Beingthe horribly unorganized human being that i am, i forgot to keep any documentation for the tax stimulus check. Is there somewhere i can look up that information?

Answer: You could call the irs. Or if you go to a tax preparer, and you can find your impersonate of your last year's return or if they have a copy, they can figure out what it would have been.

although i was below the limits of not getting one, I never received my 2008 Tax Stimulus Scrutiny last summer. I am now doing my taxes, and they are going to assume I did. But is there some place I can go to actually get the chips from last summer? did someone steal it from my mailbox? i dont know!
